About The Position

Incumbent will prepare and serve specialty coffee and other beverages. Greet and serve food to patrons. Provides excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Knowledge of specialty coffee ingredients
• Experience using commercial espresso equipment
• Adherence to safe food handling procedures and sanitation practices
• Knowledge of food preparation and food service skills
• Good customer service skills to manage multiple orders in a busy retail atmosphere
• Ability to provide efficient and friendly service
• Register and cash handling experience
• Point of sales (POS) experience

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ experience in food-service industry
• Barista experience
• Experience working in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, to include coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, and tea
• Take accurate orders from customers and relay correct information to appropriate staff
• Operate espresso equipment
• Clean and sanitize work area, utensils espresso machine and other equipment
• Clean both indoor and outdoor seating areas
• Responsible for checking on food orders to ensure customer orders are filled in a timely manner
• Check temperature of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Describe menu items to customers and recommend products that might appeal to them
• Post and update weekly drink and food specials
• Order, receive, or stock supplies and retail products
• Provide customer service with product details such as coffee blend and preparation descriptions
• Receive and process customer payments
• Serve prepared foods using appropriate sanitation methods
• Set up or restock product supply
• Maintain prepared food quality by dating, wrapping, and using first-in, first out method
• Stock customer-service stations with paper products, condiments and other appropriate supplies
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• May prepare food items from the café menu
• Other duties as assigned
