About The Position

Imagine a world-class engineering environment. Now add a team of exceptional talent along with technologies that are so advanced they’re often classified. That’s what you’ll find at General Dynamics Mission Systems. Here you’ll lead amazing engineers as they invent the technologies, products and services that help our service members, intelligence analysts and first responders keep our nation safe. If you want the chance to lead, it’s time to bring your talent to General Dynamics Mission Systems. We apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between. In this role as a Reverse Engineer with the Intelligence Systems, you'll work directly with customers to set priorities and run regression tests on our hardware, including vehicle telematics systems and onboard vehicle communication platforms. A key part of your day-to-day will be finding, troubleshooting, and debugging software issues across vehicle telematics hardware and in-vehicle communication interfaces, and then clearly explaining your findings to the engineering team. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining clear documentation for our test procedures and are encouraged to find and suggest better ways of doing things. We encourage you to apply if you have a blend of the following experiences. This position is a great fit if you have hands-on experience with the Linux command line, have used tools like Wireshark to analyze network traffic and vehicle telematics data, and have a solid grasp of networking and data bus protocols; penetration testing experience is a plus. We also value a working knowledge of practices from hands-on trades, especially if you have an interest in developing innovative solutions to unique problems. Ideal candidates will have high attention to detail, the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment, and the ability to work effectively under general supervision, alone, or with a team. With your proficiency in grasping and applying new information quickly, the Advanced Reverse Engineer will analyze, decompose, disassemble code, perform static code analysis, kernel-level debugging, and debug and modify software. Programming in both C and assembly language, we’ll rely on you to be involved in Protocol Analysis, Vulnerability Assessment, Security Research, Rapid Prototyping of proof of concept capabilities. You’ll conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing utilizing reverse engineering techniques. You’ll also contribute to the design, development and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations.
