See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of through-hole and SMT electronic assemblies down to component level using bench top electronic instruments. Responsible for analysis of failures that occur in manufacturing or during production processing to determine the cause of failure to prevent future occurrence. Responsible for quality assurance and documentation. Relies on schematics, drawings, specification, and other documentation from engineering along with pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. Works without immediate supervision. Essential Functions: Performs troubleshooting, failure analysis rework of electronic assemblies using bench-top test equipment, custom test beds, and automated test systems in compliance with quality assurance policies and methodologies. Repair through-hole and SMT electronic assemblies in accordance with standards industry standards as interpreted by Engineering Department Inspect, solder and rework by IPC Class 2 Standards (Thru-hole and SMT components), as needed. Ability to use a microscope to perform inspection and rework, as needed. Troubleshoot failed electronic assemblies and identify rework required for production rework operators. Support SMT rework operators on techniques, materials, and processes. Communicate problems to engineering and/or production personnel as appropriate. Participate in continuous improvement. Recommend improvements to product flow and throughput, work sequences, test processes and debug techniques. Document as required. Maintains a clean, safe, work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards. This position normally requires exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes/boots and hearing protection. Requirements

  • In-depth understands of electronic theory, both digital and analog
  • Proficient in test measurement and troubleshooting techniques on electronic assemblies/subassemblies in a manufacturing environment involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
  • Experience with bench-top test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, etc.)
  • Proficient in skills needed to rework SMT PCB defects.
  • Interpret, and comprehend schematics, mechanical drawing, data sheets, functional specifications, and block diagrams.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and production techniques
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective multitasking skills and ability to take on additional responsibilities as required.
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills
  • Works individually and in team environment
  • Able to work overtime when needed.
  • 2-4 years of experience in test and repair of complex electronic assemblies and systems to component level.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
