About The Position

RF Design Engineer I (DE I) is an entry-level engineering position responsible for supporting the design, modeling, simulation, characterization, validation, verification and design-related documentation of ceramic-based RF and millimeter-wave single function passive components, packages and multi-function modules. This role is ideal for recent graduates with strong RF fundamentals, curiosity to learn, and a proactive mindset. The DE I works under close guidance from a Senior Engineer while gaining hands-on experience with RF simulation tools, laboratory measurements, and Mini-Circuits’ product development processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 0–1 year of experience, specializing in RF design, including relevant RF coursework, RF/microwave circuit design experience through industry exposure, or RF-related academic capstone projects.
  • Strong academic foundation including relevant coursework in RF and microwave engineering principles.
  • Theoretical and basic practical knowledge in the design of common RF circuits such as filters, couplers, power dividers, and baluns.
  • Familiarity with EM simulation tools based on Method of Moments (MoM) and Finite Element Method (FEM) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the employment of RF measurement test equipment.
  • Must be proficient in scripting and data analysis using employing coding languages such as Python, MATLAB or other.
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, creative with a strong sense of discipline.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Strong relationship management, project management, problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and takes initiative — seeks clarification, asks questions, and follows up on action items.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and eagerness to learn, especially in RF design.
  • Focused on learning, execution, and technical skill development rather than independent ownership of designs.
  • Solid problem-solving ability, with willingness to break down technical problems methodically.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of producing clear technical documentation.
  • Positive, team-oriented, and able to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple parallel tasks and deadlines.
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
  • Ability and willingness to abide by Company’s Code of Conduct

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience in the design of active components (i.e. Low Noise Amplifiers, Power Amplifiers, etc.), RF systems/modules, is a plus.
  • Academical publications in the RF domain are to be considered a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support RF design and development activities for passive RF, millimeter-wave components, packages and multi-function modules under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.
  • Execute EM and circuit-level simulations using tools such as Ansys HFSS, Genesys, ADS, or CST.
  • Model designs and run simulation sweeps, parametric studies, and optimizations as directed; analyze and summarize results.
  • Assist with RF measurements and characterization using laboratory equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Power Supplies, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and others.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze measured and simulated data to support design reviews, reports and design-related decisions.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation to support Mini-Circuits’ Product Generation Process (PGP).
  • Support product characterization, qualification, and test development activities in collaboration with Product, Manufacturing, Quality and Test Engineers.
  • Work with the Project Management team to plan and execute assigned tasks within the committed timelines and budget.
  • Support engineering organization in ISO Audits and Management reviews and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Assist senior engineer in drafting company procedures and processes to ensure the highest level of design and manufacturing standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Collaborate with peers in the creation of Intellectual Property (IP) to maintain technical relevance in materials and processes, circuital topologies, design methodologies/techniques, simulation software and modeling techniques, device characterization techniques and novel production testing strategies.
  • Create scripts and execute simulation runs to optimize the performance of passive RF, Microwave and Millimeter-Wave components.
