HDR Engineering, Inc. has an opportunity for a Right of Way Agent 2 based out of our Denver office. The candidate will perform land rights services for moderate to highly complex projects with limited supervision and will have the opportunity to work on transportation, power, and water projects as part of HDR’s cross sector services. This position will involve working as a part of multidisciplined teams including engineering, surveying, environmental and strategic communications and will require working on several projects concurrently.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate, right-of-way, title, utility coordination, relocation, or property management
  • Ability to work independently, communicate and document effectively, handle large volumes of work, and coordinate closely with management availability for travel
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with the federal, state and industry laws, and FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, NEPA, FERC and Uniform Relocation Act regulations
  • Ability to work confidently with clients, property owners and occupants
  • Ability to effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner
  • Proficiency with standard technology tools such as Microsoft Office and Project
  • Position requires strong communication skills, basic understanding of negotiation and presentation skills, and ability to work flexible hours and effectively with people of all types
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate closely with management

  • Available for travel anywhere in Colorado (limited out of state may be required)
  • Experience acquiring property rights for Transportation and/or Power projects
  • Proficiency adhering to the Uniform Acquisition and Relocation Act
  • Certification from the International Right of Way Association
  • Permitting experience within Colorado

Responsibilities

  • Property ownership and valuation research
  • Real estate document preparation
  • Preparing real estate documents such as easements, offer letters and MOA’s
  • Title and appraisal reviews
  • Negotiating to acquire land rights for transportation and utility projects
  • Meeting with property owners, public agencies and clients to discuss issues related to developing and constructing transportation and utility projects.
  • Work independently or closely with a team, confidently with clients and property owners.
  • Field meetings and visits to active construction sites
  • Quality assurance reviews of project deliverables
