About The Position

Provide technical support to third-party developers building applications on the Ring Developer Experience platform. Help developers successfully integrate Ring APIs, troubleshoot issues, and accelerate their time-to-market while maintaining high developer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience working with REST API based services, or experience with web-based applications and HTTP and experience in deploying identity and access management systems
  • Experience identifying bugs in architecture, algorithms, functionality, and performance with strong overall debugging skills
  • Experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis
  • Video/IoT Basics: Understanding of video streaming, motion detection, and IoT device concepts
  • Customer Focus: Patient, empathetic, and committed to developer success
  • Self-Starter: Can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Documentation: Strong written communication for knowledge base articles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in technical account management, business relationship management, or consulting
  • Previous developer support or API support experience
  • Experience with developer communities (Stack Overflow, GitHub, forums)
  • Developer Tools: Familiarity with Postman, cURL, API testing tools

Responsibilities

  • Answer developer questions about API integration, authentication, and SDK usage
  • Troubleshoot integration errors and API response issues
  • Guide developers through device capability discovery and feature availability
  • Help developers navigate certification requirements and app submission process
  • Debug rate limiting and quota management issues
  • Document common issues and solutions in knowledge base
  • Identify documentation gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Create troubleshooting guides and FAQ content
  • Contribute to self-service resources to reduce ticket volume
  • Triage and escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams
  • Collect developer feedback for product and documentation improvements
  • Participate in weekly office hours and developer community forums
  • Track support metrics and identify recurring pain points
