About The Position

We’re looking for a dynamic Risk Adjustment Trainer to help shape the learning experience for teams across BCBST. In this role, you will: Design and deliver training that strengthens risk adjustment knowledge, elevates coding accuracy, and drives quality across the organization. Collaborate with operations and leadership to identify learning needs and create impactful educational programs. Support employees from onboarding through ongoing development, ensuring they have the tools to succeed. Partner with external vendors to ensure compliance standards are met. Develop, maintain, and communicate coding guidelines that align with CMS regulations. With a focus on performance improvement and department‑wide quality assurance, this position plays a key role in advancing our risk adjustment excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment
  • 3 years - Experience in the design and development of training programs required
  • 3 years – Risk adjustment and ICD-10 coding required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Adobe eLearning Suite.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Understanding of ICD-10 coding standards required
  • Must possess the AAPC Certified Risk Adjustment Coder Certificate (CRC)

Responsibilities

  • Developing course curricula, supporting materials and programs for learning initiatives.
  • Assisting in evaluating employees' learning performance and related improvements.
  • Assisting in determining learning needs and objectives for an organization's various employees.
  • Ensuring the delivery of learning courses and programs through suitable methodologies, such as individual coaching and classroom training.
  • Responsible for department wide risk adjustment quality assurance.
  • Partners with Operations Managers and Human Resources to fill vacancies.
  • May perform supervisory responsibilities as directed by management.
