Responsible for assisting in the detection, mitigation, and resolution of all fraud issues within the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; plus, a minimum of 1-year financial institution experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparing, processing, tracking and reporting on all risk
  • Investigate potential risks with the intention to prevent fraudulent activity, work with law enforcement and other government agencies in collection efforts.
  • Research, recommend and implement loss prevention
  • Works with members and credit union staff to address issues related to the Risk Management department functions to ensure excellent member
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to regulatory change, environmental change, vendor requirement change that impact the risk to the credit union.
  • Review BSA Verafin alerts for potentially abnormal activities and, if necessary, escalate alerts to the Senior BSA Administrator, BSA Officer, and AVP of Risk Management for further review.
  • Ability to learn primary functions of all other Risk Management department employees such as Compliance, Vendor Management, Audit, BSA, Security, and Special Accounts.
  • Investigate questionable deposit items in order to prevent possible fraud
  • Assists in securing premises and personnel by monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.
  • Investigate security breaches, incidents, and other alarming
  • Assist in the preservation of evidence in all Risk Management investigations including scanning, filing, and downloading of claims, documentation, files, images, and video
  • Special projects, creation and conducting training for credit union staff, research, analysis or other duties as assigned by the AVP of Risk Management.
