About The Position

This is a hybrid position with an onsite requirement of 1 - 2 times per month at Corewell Health East. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented RN Clinical Database Specialist to join Corewell Health and make a measurable impact on patient care. In this role, you will lead registry abstraction for the National Cardiac Data Registry—supporting catheter-based valve replacement patients at our Dearborn hospital and registry work at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids—while driving system-wide quality improvement initiatives. Job Summary This role supports external clinical registry work in the National Cardiac Data Registry for patients undergoing cardiac valve replacement via catheter at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital , as well as registry work at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids . Responsibilities include quality registry abstraction and leading quality improvement initiatives across the system. You will also support operational improvement projects throughout the organization—both clinical and non-clinical—to achieve measurable process enhancements. This includes analyzing existing workflows, recommending sustainable improvements, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The role requires maintaining database integrity, securely collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in healthcare or related field
  • 2 years of relevant Nursing experience
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in healthcare or related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience with chart review, relevant clinical experience and/or Quality improvement experience
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - Institute for Healthcare improvement (IHI), IHI Open School

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvement activities aligned with organizational priorities, using project management tools and data-informed strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison across departments, fostering collaboration and acting as a change agent to ensure continuity of services and resource optimization.
  • Assist stakeholders and process owners in prioritizing improvement opportunities through continuous assessment and appropriate methodologies.
  • Utilize clinical judgment to retrieve and submit regulatory data accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with internal and external programming teams to maintain database integrity and functionality.
  • Partner with clinical teams to analyze data, provide insights, and communicate findings to drive strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality rules and regulations for The Joint Commission and CMS.
