About The Position

Our Clinical Education team is currently hiring a Nurse Clinical Educator to join the Progressive Care unit at Presbyterian Hospital. The RN Educator serves as consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer, clinical practice expert, and interprofessional collaborator supporting the clinical development needs of staff throughout the PHS enterprise. The RN Clinical Educator supports the educational components of the organizations clinical initiatives and practices. Requirements

  • Licensure: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing required.
  • Academic Preparation: Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Nursing, Nursing Education, Education, Instructional Design, informatics Business, Leadership, Informatics, or Administration preferred.
  • Specialty Certifications: Specialty certification in nursing, informatics, education or equivalent certification preferred
  • Professional Requirements/Emergency Response: Maintains current training in following: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, and other emergency response certification may be required depending upon area of assignment
  • Experience: Minimum At least 3 years of clinical care expertise required in clinical specialty.
  • In lieu of the 3 years experience, completion of an accredited nurse residency program, 1 year of Clinical Practice Lead experience, or prior educator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides educational activities based on learning needs assessments, utilizing the right instructional design, training delivery, learning technology, and evaluation methodology to provide learning opportunities with high impact.
  • Independently drives learning / performance needs assessment
  • Collaborates in the identification of target audience performance needs/gaps
  • Defines the performance gap objectives and partners with management to achieve agreement on approach to bridge the gap
  • Creates optimal, budget-conscious instructional design to achieve performance objectives
  • Incorporates evidence-based data to structure instructional design and performance content
  • Drives the implementation of educational content/program in collaboration with management and team members
  • Builds the approach, deployment, collection, analysis and reporting of educational program effectiveness
  • Designs new programs to meet organizational strategic objectives
  • At the elbow support for team and clinical staff in informatics systems
