The Coordinator of Quality Management—RN is responsible for overseeing all quality-related activities, including but not limited to Core Measures, Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (eCQMs), data abstraction, data validation, and measure submission. This role serves as a subject matter expert on quality metrics and care execution in alignment with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements. The coordinator also acts as a liaison between the corporate Quality Management and Informatics teams, ensuring that data reporting and compilation adhere to established standards and are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • RN diploma required with BSN preferred.
  • Current Ohio RN License
  • Registered nurse with at least two years of experience in hospital patient care experience required.
  • Additional utilization management, quality management or case management experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Case Management or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Chart Review, Data Abstraction, and Quality Analysis Performs computer-based abstraction of clinical charts aligned with CMS Core Measures, eCQMs, and other regulatory initiatives. Collects and aggregates data from sources such as EHR systems, Midas/CPM, HRP, and vendor tools. Validates the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of abstracted data per regulatory guidelines. Analyzes quality data using internal databases and performs trend analysis compared to benchmarks. Reviews clinical documentation for compliance with quality measures. Collaborates with IT, Informatics, and vendors to improve data capture and resolve abstraction issues. Serves as a subject matter expert on abstraction specifications, measure definitions, and reporting. Maintains documentation of abstraction standards, workflows, and protocols. Supports training of new abstractors and clinical staff on data abstraction methodology
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance Reporting Identifies declining or plateauing performance on quality measures and conducts root cause analysis. Supports development and implementation of improvement interventions in collaboration with clinical teams and Performance Improvement and operations as it pertains to CE body of work. Prepares and distributes compliance reports, dashboards, and provider-level feedback tools. Partners with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams to ensure data reflects care accurately. Monitors progress on improvement strategies and reports outcomes regularly. Participates in interdisciplinary workgroups and supports regulatory readiness efforts. Coordinates and supports audits, data validation, and accreditation survey preparedness Maintains up-to-date knowledge of regulatory programs such as but not limited to CMS IQR, eCQMs, SEP-1, and regulatory measures.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitoring Conducts quality assurance reviews of abstraction and documentation for regulatory compliance. Develops audit processes and performs inter-rater reliability (IRR) assessments for consistency. Identifies and addresses discrepancies or trends in data reporting. Collaborates with clinical teams to resolve abstraction and documentation issues. Provides feedback and coaching based on QA findings to ensure accuracy and standardization. Ensures readiness for internal/external audits and maintains necessary records. Coordinates with IT/Informatics to ensure documentation tools support accurate abstraction. Incorporates regulatory updates and best practices into internal QA procedures. Reports QA results and uses findings to inform education and improvement efforts
  • Program Support and Coordination of Quality Initiatives Supports planning, tracking, and execution of specific quality improvement projects. Coordinates timelines, deliverables, and documentation for quality initiatives. Assists with preparation of meeting agendas, materials, and minutes for workgroups. Aligns project tasks with strategic goals and regulatory requirements. Serves as a liaison between departments and external vendors for program coordination. Supports development of educational and communication materials for initiatives. Tracks program metrics and escalates issues when milestones are at risk. Participates in standardization of tools and workflows to promote sustainability
  • Clinical Quality Systems Support Collaborates with data analysts to support clinical quality systems and data reporting infrastructure. Assists with integration and validation of clinical quality applications as needed.
