The Main Campus Emergency Department treats over 61,000 patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport.) As RN in the Emergency Department (ED), you will help patients feel comfortable, at ease and supported while receiving treatment. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. On this team, you will have numerous opportunities to explore educational development courses and advance the Professional Ladder at Cleveland Clinic.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross within one year of hire

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
