Position Summary We are seeking a PRN motivated and skilled Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join our team. The RNFA professional will possess exceptional clinical expertise in assisting with surgical procedures, alongside strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate surgeries and patient care. This role demands a balance of clinical proficiency, administrative acumen, and interpersonal finesse to ensure seamless patient experiences and optimal surgical outcomes.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RNFA in a surgical setting, preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a surgery coordinator preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
  • Strong understanding of surgical techniques, sterile practices, and perioperative nursing care.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals in the surgical team to provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.
  • Assist in preparing the operating room, including setting up equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies.
  • Provide direct assistance to the surgeon during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, assess surgical sites, and intervene as necessary to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the surgical team.
  • Participate in post-operative care, including wound management, patient education, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines, and a commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
