The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care on interfacility transfers. The RN assumes full clinical responsibility for patient assessment, ALS-level interventions, monitoring, and medication administration throughout transport. The RN works in collaboration with EMTs, who provide vehicle operations and BLS support, while the RN serves as the lead medical authority on board. The RN for EMS Transfers is not regularly scheduled and is called in as needed.
