About The Position

Lying just inland between the State's coastal mountain ranges and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Adventist Health Reedley has been serving the Central Valley since 2011. We are comprised of a 49-bed acute care hospital and 60 clinics in 27 rural communities with primary and specialty care services. Reedley is a perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts as it is located in the central San Joaquin Valley portion of California, close to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. In addition to the beautiful landscape, it also offers a great cost of living and close-knit communities. Job Summary: Provides overall supervision of the organization in collaboration with and in the absence of the administrative/executive team. Makes administrative decisions, collaborates with the Nursing Directors and other departments, ensures patient and staff safety, and oversees the functioning of the organization. Assists with/facilitates clinical functions. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification: Required for all facilities, except Behavioral Health

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • One year's experience working in a critical care setting: Preferred
  • Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises nursing personnel and operations by making rounds on a regular basis.
  • Facilitates hospital throughput including providing resources, managing bed placement, and patient transfers/discharges.
  • Supervises professional and ancillary personnel.
  • Maintains and adjusts unit-based staffing in order to meet patient needs, while observing regulatory mandates, budget guidelines and needs throughout the hospital.
  • Evaluates employee, patient, family, and physician complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
