About The Position

RN Position Purpose:    Responsible for patient care that promotes patient safety and well-being of all patients. Makes staff assignments as directed if serving in a Charge Nurse role. Gives guidance and direction to personnel - LPNs, CNAs and non-licensed personnel, provides direct patient care, assists in new staff orientation and collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs. Assist in coordinating the operation of a shift on the nursing unit. Performs under the direction of the Nurse Manager and in accordance with the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Minimum of Associates Degree of Nursing - Preferred Bachelors Degree of Nursing
  • Registered and Licensed by the State of Georgia
  • Current certification in CPR, or completion of CPR course (AHA) within 60 days of employment
  • ACLS certification, or ACLS obtained within 90 days of employment
  • AWHONN approved Electronic Fetal Monitoring class required within 6 months of hire, EFM Certification preferred
  • STABLE preferred
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to work at a personal computer
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and to be able to lift, push, bend and carry loads of up to 50 pounds; must be able to lift and move patients
  • Must be able to concentrate despite frequent interruptions
  • Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: 2 - 5 years in recent job-related experience
  • Preferred Bachelors Degree of Nursing
  • EFM Certification preferred
  • STABLE preferred
