Fairview is looking for a hardworking RN at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. This position is 48 hours per two weeks on the Night shift, for 12 hour shifts, variable schedule, and every third weekend rotation. We are committed to delivering outstanding health care in our growing community! Our 184 bed facility offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. About This Unit: This is a 33 bed Heart Care unit with rapid turnaround for patients that stay on average for 2.5 days. Our typical patient population consists of patients with observable chest pain, ruling out anything cardiac related, stroke patients, and alcohol withdrawal. We prepare and recover our patients for stress tests, echocardiograms, and cardiac procedures including diagnostic angiograms/stent placement, ablations, pacemakers and ICD insertions, and open heart surgery. Our unit cares for many patients with heart failure and cardiac arrythmias needing IV drips. RNs will identify cardiac rhythms and determine next steps for patients with MD guidance. The RN serves as the key leader of the interdependent team and is responsible to achieve patient and unit outcomes by coordinating the care for a group of patients. This includes: comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on the needs' assessment; establishing the plan of care; monitoring the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed. In this role, you will achieve patient and unit outcomes by coordinating the care for a group of patients. Depending on the unit, you will be working with: Holistic Nursing Theory Patient Education and Coordinating Care Blood draws and Lab draws Therapy plans and treatment Telemetry monitoring Accessing Ports, PICCs, and Feeding tubes Bipap Manual and cycler Peritoneal Dialysis Discharge planning Passing meds, checking vitals, reviewing labs Opportunity for obtaining certifications such as Med/Surg, Ortho, or Chemo cert.
