About The Position

We believe that creating a tiered system for our per diem RNs allows for flexibility and balance, honoring the employee’s desire to work while balancing given business needs. See below for details. Tier 1 Per Diem RN Available to work at least 24 hours per month. 17% hourly premium Tier 2 Per Diem RN Available to work 60 hours per month, including: 1 weekend shift per month 1 Holiday in Summer 1 Holiday in Winter 20% hourly premium Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job Summary: Responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of all patients within the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Minimum of one year experience within the last 3 years of care delivery in a monitored care area: PACU, ICU, ED or telemetry
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
Current American Heart Association ACLS by date of hire
Completion of unit competencies for peri-anesthesia care within probationary period or first 2 months if an employee transfer
Night and Weekend call assignments as per PACU Call Policy
Proficiency in airway management/adjuncts
Proficiency with IV skills and techniques
Ability to identify EKG rhythms and related necessary interventions
Understanding of Pain Management and related-pharmacology
Understanding of Cardiac and emergency medication pharmacology
PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

CPAN, CAPA, CCRN and/or CEN certifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
Performs other duties as assigned.
