On our General Surgery 5D Unit, you will be caring for Lutheran’s Bariatric, Neurology, Spinal, and Orthopedic surgery patients. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. How You’ll Benefit Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. We’re dedicated to providing what matters most to you. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days between 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Internal candidates: must have at least one year of recent related nursing experience.
  • External candidates: must have at least two years of recent related nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
  • Serve as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
