Doernbecher Children's Hospital (DCH) Operating Room, a unit of OHSU's Perioperative Services Division and OHSU's Women's and Children's Division, is located on the 8th floor of DCH. DCH is open 24/7 and maintains 8 operating rooms and 2 procedure rooms that primarily address the surgical needs of both inpatient and outpatient pediatric and young adults with congenital conditions ages neonate to 25. Surgical procedure on patients 25 and above may also be performed. Service lines can include Cardiac/ Thoracic, General Surgery, Gynecology, Oral maxillofacial surgery, Dental, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Spine, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Transplant, Urology, Vascular Surgery, Robotic, Gastrointestinal, and Trauma. Surgical procedures on adults 18 years of age and above are also performed if the procedure requires specialized equipment found only at this location. The department operates Monday through Friday for scheduled, urgent, and emergent procedures. The unit is staffed 24/7. Additionally, there are 3 dedicated on-call teams to provide after-hours surgical coverage seven days a week, ensuring access to critical surgical interventions for pediatric patients across the region.
