About The Position

The RN, Pediatrics provides compassionate, developmentally appropriate nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of medical and surgical needs. This role conducts thorough assessments, monitors changes in clinical status, and delivers evidence-based nursing interventions to support stabilization, recovery, and family-centered care. Working collaboratively with pediatricians, specialists, therapists, and ancillary team members, the RN helps coordinate individualized care plans and promote continuity across the care experience. As part of a supportive, team-oriented pediatric environment, this position promotes safety, comfort, and positive health outcomes through clear communication, patient and family education, and attentive clinical practice.

Requirements

  • Current or temporary RN license in North Dakota or compact RN licensure.
  • BLS certification required within orientation period.
  • RN program as evidenced by licensure.
  • Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification in area of practice is desirable.
  • Hospital experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct age-appropriate assessments, monitor patient conditions, and evaluate responses to treatments and therapies.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, manage IV access, and carry out physician-ordered interventions safely and accurately.
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, care plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and communication in the electronic health record according to regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with providers and care team members to coordinate care, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and communicate patient needs.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and respond promptly to changes in pediatric patient status or emergent conditions.
