The Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a dynamic, all-RN environment where teamwork and support are at the center of everything we do. As a PACU RN, you will care for post-surgical patients recovering from anesthesia while building specialized skills in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting that offers continuous learning and professional growth. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. This is a full-time position. A caregiver in this role works a total of 36 hours per week between 11:00am to 11:30pm. Call rotations are required with a call window of 1 hour.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
