As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pre- and Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU), you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, monitoring patients’ health, assessing patients’ pre-operative status, administering medication and maintaining up-to-date patient records. You will be caring for pre- and post-operative patients undergoing surgical cases including, but not limited to, general, thoracic, robotics and cardiovascular surgeries. On this nursing team, you will feel supported and appreciated for the knowledge you must share and have access to our advanced technology and research to ensure all patients receive world-class care.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon or within one year of hire
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• One to two years of critical care or Emergency Department experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
