About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Provide medical management and assessment of patients. Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population. Direct the implementation of behavior management programs/plans and ensure consistent carry-through. Make patient & task assignments to subordinates & monitor their performance of duties. Provide training & education to staff, patients, families, & others. Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, & that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License
  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • CPI Certification
  • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
  • Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation

Nice To Haves

  • One-year inpatient psychiatric experience with adults, adolescents and/or children preferred.
  • New graduates welcome
