About The Position

Haven Homes , a Cassia community, is hiring a Staff Development / Infection Control Nurse (RN) to join our team! This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and strengthening clinical practices while making a meaningful impact on resident care. As the Staff Development/Infection Control Nurse , you will provide education and training for staff, oversee safety and infection control programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to staff credentialing and education. You will also support ongoing professional development while assisting with clinical quality initiatives including infection prevention, wound care, and fall prevention. The ideal candidate is an experienced RN with strong critical thinking, leadership skills, and a passion for developing others.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Minnesota.
  • Nursing Home Infection Prevention training through CDC.
  • Prior experience in long-term care required.
  • Must have current CPR instructor certification or obtain CPR instructor certification by time of hire.
  • Strong clinical background and knowledge of LTC rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of managing safety programs.
  • Must have excellent attendance record, leadership ability, & ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a skilled nursing setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement infection control policies and procedures throughout the facility.
  • Perform quality assurance audits of charts and other nursing-related issues to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations in all departments.
  • Assist in preparation for state and federal surveys.
  • Educate staff members continually by attending workshops, seminars, and other work-related courses.
  • Manage onboarding and ongoing educational needs of staff members.
  • Collaborate with peers on educational tools and track records in our system.
  • Implement staff development and clinical staff competency programs incorporating appropriate adult learning principles.
  • Report quality issues and recommend opportunities for improvement to the Director of Nursing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
