About The Position

Under the direction of the RN Supervisor LMA, and in accordance with the approved policies and procedures, provides quality nursing care in an effort to promote comfort and healing and achieve the best possible clinical outcomes. The Registered Professional Nurse will use nursing process and approved nursing standards to provide safe and successful quality care. Provide ongoing education to both the patient and their families. Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and clinical expertise through continuing education, inservice programs, departmental competencies, and self development activities. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide quality patient care as well as act on standing orders. The RN will be responsible for working both on a team and independently on reports, with a provider, or managing a patient schedule. He or she will need to do all that is necessary on a given day to cover other clinical staff;. This will include and is not limited to rooming patients, triaging calls, assisting providers, setting up exam rooms, retrieving records, administering vaccines/injectables, performing Medicare Wellness Visits, & point of care testing, working referrals, scheduling procedures, completing insurance authorizations for medications and procedures. na

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current NYS license
  • BLS and ACLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
  • One year experience
  • Ability to perform technical aspects of position.
  • Position requires excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
  • Familiarity with The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in related field.
  • Previous Cardiology experience
  • Experience with EMR.
