About The Position

Zingerman’s Roadhouse is looking for a Roadshow service professional with flexible availability, including weekends, and are willing to work both front-facing and behind-the-scenes shifts. We are looking for candidates who want to grow with us for at least a year, including UM football season, our busy holiday times, next Summer and into the Fall. Full-time or part time, hourly positions available (full time is 30-40 hours per week, or 4-5 days per week, part time would be 16 or more hours per week, minimum of three days per week). We offer flexible schedules, including weekends, as well as a structured training program and the opportunity to be part of a team that values your contributions. This is a front of house position that includes preparation of beverages and basic sandwiches. Morning shifts start as early as 6am. Night shifts end as late as 11pm. Shift lengths vary between 6 and 8 hours. Compensation: $9.00/hour + tips (min $15/hour, average $17-18/hour).

Requirements

Can safely lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods at a time.
Can work reliably in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions
Friendly and professional with a positive attitude
Strong skills in multitasking, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
Effective oral communication skills in English
Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team and maintain quality
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
Display working knowledge of all menu items and prices including the ability to speak about each individual item that is served to customers and co-workers
Complete side work with accuracy and timeliness
Verbally receive and call back guest orders in a friendly manner
Act with integrity and honesty
Able to work efficiently, quickly, accurately, and calmly in a fast-paced environment
Dependable and punctual
Passionate about great food and great service.
Self-motivated, especially under pressure.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Able to effectively manage their emotions in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Arrives on time for all shifts, meetings, and training classes
Greets all guests (drive-thru, walk-up, and phone) and takes their orders following our Zingerman’s level of service
Engages with and understands our guests and coworkers, including discovering and responding to guests needs through clear and pleasant communication
Handles cash/card transactions responsibly and maintains a balanced cash drawer
Maintains priorities in managing guest experiences and workplace organization (drinks, stocking, cleaning)
Is knowledgeable about the menu and is able to answer any questions guests may have
Maintains neat workspace and completes all assigned side work.
Attends and participates in weekly huddles and monthly departmental meetings
Follows the guidelines listed out in our staff handbook
Adheres to our “no drama” policy
Follows established checklists and systems in Roadshow.
Uses prompt and respectful communication, in accordance with our “go direct” policy, when problem solving
