About The Position

Chop Tree Service is seeking a motivated and reliable Roadside Herbicide Applicator to join our growing vegetation management team. This position focuses on roadside and guardrail herbicide applications to control invasive and nuisance vegetation along public roadways and utility corridors. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of a hardworking blue-collar team that takes pride in maintaining safe roadways and rights-of-way.

Requirements

• Michigan Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (Category 6 preferred) or ability to obtain
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL Preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work
• Strong work ethic and reliability

Nice To Haves

• Experience with vegetation management or herbicide application preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Apply herbicides along roadsides, guardrails, and rights-of-way according to project specifications
• Operate spray trucks, backpack sprayers, and other vegetation management equipment
• Mix and handle herbicides safely and according to label requirements
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies
• Maintain daily application records and documentation
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and maintenance
• Work efficiently as part of a crew to complete assigned routes and production goals
