About The Position

The Robot Electronic Warfare Specialist is part of a support team of Subject Matter Experts experienced in Explosive Ordnance Disposal operations, combat shooting techniques, tactical vehicle operation, NECC training evolutions, critical time intensive administrative functions, and logistical support roles. This support team will assist with various aspects of the EODGRU ONE and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command training mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree on Engineering or 4 years’ experience as a EOD tech or 4 years’ experience as an Electronics Technician, specifically in the repair and operation of ground and underwater robot to include Talons, Packbots, Sugv’s, First looks, MTRS2, Seabotix, SRS Fusiion, Video Ray Defender.
  • Capable of operating test equipment, electrical hand tools, basic hand tools and be knowledgeable with basic computer science.
  • Ability to operate test equipment, electrical hand tools, basic hand tools, and have working knowledge of basic computer science.
  • Maintain system certifications for maintenance on all assigned units.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds multiple times a day during training exercises.
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, calibrating and repairing all ground and underwater robots under EODESU ONE custody to include current and future systems.
  • Perform operational/functional testing per manufacture guidelines prior to robotic equipment issue, upon receipt and after component replacement repairs.
  • Perform intermediate to depot level repair, which consist of replacing various circuit boards, soldering and epoxy underwater cables along with updating software and calibrating ground and underwater robotic systems.
  • Complete platoon robotic load-outs and returns by following directions from the Engineering Technician VI supervisor.
  • Conduct asset management by monthly 10% inventories of stock (approx.. 244 line items) and conduct annual 100% inventory (approx.. 2440 line item)
  • Act as robotics training coordinator by maintaining system repair certifications and training US Navy personnel on current and future ground and underwater robotic system to include the operation, basic troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
  • Properly utilize, store and dispose of HAZMAT as required for system maintenance.
  • Coverage required 40 man-hours of maintenance and repairs per week.
  • Travel required. The engineering V technician may be required to travel CONUS or OCONUS location in support of NAVY EOD. To include travel to receive training from current and future robotic manufacturers.
