About The Position

The Robot Packaging Operator III role is responsible for operating the packaging conveyors, bag flattener, and robot machines. Replenish supplies in the robot (pallets, stretch wrap, slip sheets), collect empty bags for the bagging operator as needed, and store finished product pallets in the warehouse appropriately. This is a 3rd shift role with a $3 and hour shift differential. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Good customer service must be exhibited at all times.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, and gloves when required
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet working conditions
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
  • Good attitude and works well in team atmosphere.
  • Handles other duties as required.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the expectations of all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Ensure product quality expectations are met.
  • Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
  • Work with other Operations colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
  • Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
  • Required to work overtime as specified by management.
  • Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
  • Required to follow the production lineup to package all feeds in accordance with Akralos Product Specifications and established quality guidelines.
  • Notify Plant Leadership, if any out- of- spec quality conditions exist. This includes checking bag weights, proper clean- out, sequencing, labeling and other quality concerns before, during and after a packaging run. Must have adequate quality training.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment at all times (i.e. fork truck, etc.).
  • Follow all Akralos quality assurance guidelines and notify Plant Leadership if any out of spec quality conditions develop. Must have adequate quality training.
  • Complete assigned work orders, paperwork and tasks in a timely manner.
  • Safely and efficiently operate all necessary equipment. Follow all established plant safety rules.
  • Provide training as necessary for new and existing employees when needed.
  • Willing to be trained to help or backup the packaging operators in their housekeeping duties which may include climbing the packing bin tower, blowing down, scraping the mixer/hopper/scales, or other duties as directed by Plant Leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Leadership.
