About The Position

Nucor Steel Memphis Inc. has an opening for a Roll Mill Mechanic. The responsibility a Roll Mill Mechanic will include the continuous improvement of the Safety Culture, Predictive and Preventive Maintenance systems, Project Coordination and Team Development, with an emphasis on projects that will impact the safety and efficiency of the department. The teammate selected will be expected to lead, motivate, develop, and assist the team; manage large projects from start to completion; communicate well with both production and maintenance departments; and wisely manage contractors and costs.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• Demonstrated Leadership
• At least 1 Year experience in industrial maintenance
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Positive Attitude
• Working knowledge and understanding of Rolling Mill Machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial hydraulic systems
• Familiar with industrial air compressor maintenance and operation
• Ability to demonstrate proficient welding/fabrication skills
• Industrial gearbox set up and alignment experience
