About The Position

The placement opportunity includes the following departments and positions: Department: Orientation Position: Orientation Duration: 0.5 month Job Description: You will receive orientation to the company and local community to include: learning about our company’s customers, culture, business strategies, learn about payroll schedules, local training area, meet key contacts and other employees, receive computer training on company systems, receive orientation to local community including cultural centers, volunteer opportunities, local sporting events, and entertainment venues. Orientation is scheduled to take up to one month and takes place concurrently with the first phase of training. Department: Rooms Division Position: Guest Services Agent Duration: 5 months Job Description: You will learn front desk computer system; check -in and check -out procedures; promote Preferred Guest Program; cashier responsibilities; maintain a house bank and make a deposit and accurate report of receipts daily; group arrivals procedures, guest room assignment and control; walk over procedures; hourly house counts; computer/guest texting service, luxury language, sell -out controls; room key controls; room up selling techniques; resolve guest concerns. Department: Rooms DivisionPosition: Personal Concierge Duration: 3 monthsJob Description: You will learn responsibilities of personal concierge; learn to respond to inquiries with accurate information regarding hours of outlet operation, directions to local attractions, or meeting rooms, car rentals and airline shuttle service, etc. according to individual needs; learn to arrange and confirms recreation, business and dining activities both inside and outside the hotel; learn and manage to promptly respond to requests for appointments for the guests. Will registers VIP guests by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information such as number of guests and room rate. Promotes Hilton marketing programs. Makes an appropriate selection of guest rooms based on guest needs. Codes electronic keys. Confirm the room number and rate. Provides folders containing room keys, certificates, coupons and refreshment center keys as appropriate. Responds to guest complaints, conducts research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiates results. Listens and assists in resolving problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc. Remains calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Department: Rooms Division Position: Front Desk Supervisor Duration: 3.5 months Job Description: You will learn to oversee the front desk agents; learn to handle walk over procedures; maintain hourly house counts; sell -out controls; room key controls; learn to train staff on upselling techniques; resolve guest concerns; assign tasks to front desk agents; provide training and support to front desk agents; maintain all front desk related equipment and a par stock of supplies; strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue; learn to review Housekeeping reports and follow -up; learn front desk manager duties and responsibilities such as yield management, forecasts, scheduling and staffing processes and daily management meetings.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled in a post secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR have a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR have 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA)
