Wieland is hiring a Rotary Straightener Operator. The rotary straightener operator will be responsible for operating the rotary straightener by loading tubing into the guide and holding the material while traveling through the straightener, if necessary. Operates equipment safely per standard operating procedure and initiates improvement to safe operations as appropriate. This role is located in Duncansville, PA and will be fully on-site. Starting Pay: $19.77/hr Schedule: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, after the 60-90 day training period 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Pay Schedule: Weekly

Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull and reach throughout the shift
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small components
  • Maximum individual lifting restriction: 40 lbs
  • Use of mechanical aids (carts, lifts, hoists) required for heavier load
  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge utilizing measuring devices
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and policies, including use of Personal Protective Equipment as required
  • Maintains effective communication with other employees, including supervisor/management and during shift changes
  • Produces material within prescribed tolerances with focus on the “next customer” in a timely manner
  • Interprets Traveler Tickets (or Production Order Sheets) noting straightness requirements and set up the machine to produce the required straightness and dimensions to specification
  • Performs set up of Eddy Tester and classified if required
  • Where applicable, operations with eddy current test capability require the operator to be at least level I eddy current test qualified. Until the operator receives Level I qualification, the eddy current operation must be set-up and supervised by a level I or II qualified operator
  • Loads tube into tubing guide and, if necessary, holds material while traveling through straightener. Segregates the material that is rejected
  • Complete information required on the production sheet
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the various tasks identified on the machine’s training evaluation form
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of equipment/machine specific SOP’s
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require
