About The Position

We are seeking a strong Senior Consultant to support states participating in the Rural Health Transformation Program. This role will help states and other rural health stakeholders translate Rural Health Transformation program requirements into actionable plans, assist with implementation, and help manage program progress and coordination. The successful candidate will: Assist state agencies, including Medicaid, Public Health, and the Governor’s Office in the statewide management and/or implementation of the Rural Health Transformation Program Assist clients in assessing business and technical requirements related to the implementation of program initiatives Research and stay abreast of all states’ rural health transformation efforts Review federal guidance, terms and conditions, and related grants requirements and translate them into actionable implementation direction for states Support internal knowledge-sharing by curating resources, updating playbooks/templates, and contributing to lessons learned Perform data and qualitative research activities to address state program needs Assist with monitoring and reporting activities to support both state and federal reporting requirements Develop communication materials to share information about the states’ rural health transformation efforts Document and communicate findings and support development of recommendations and follow-up steps to respond to findings Identify and collaborate with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders Participate in analysis of client-identified issues or problems Manage timelines, budgets, and staffing for projects and engagements of various sizes and durations Effectively manage client interaction and manage client expectations Provide subject matter expertise, as requested and appropriate Help develop business with new clients, as requested Supervise and support the development of Guidehouse staff Participate in non-client related firm-building activities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3+ (THREE) years of previous work experience
  • Must have experience in the Healthcare Industry
  • Strong attention to detail and deliverable preparation
  • Strong interest in state health agencies and healthcare reform, e.g., Medicaid, public health, health insurance, and health reform organizations (legislative, executive, governor’s office)
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs as required

Nice To Haves

  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (healthcare, business or data analytics/computer science) OR - A Master’s degree in health policy and administration, public policy, public health, social service administration OR equivalent
  • A strategic problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage task execution and manage discreet task / project / initiative functions.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access as well as the ability to conduct research through use of the internet and other information sources
  • The ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Assure high-quality client work product
