About The Position

Byerly RV is seeking a driven, customer-focused Service Manager to lead our Service Department in our new 16 Bay Retail Service Center. We are a 8-time Top 50 RV Dealership focused on improving the RV Service experience for retail customers. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for profitability, production, team development, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Retail Service Manager is responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Service Center. This includes maximizing production, controlling costs, developing processes, reviewing key metrics, and leading a team committed to delivering quality work on time — every time. This is a top-down leadership role requiring regular evaluation of KPIs, budgets, costs, and revenue. While strategic in scope, success often comes down to executing simple, daily, consistent process improvements that elevate the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Workflow & Communication
  • Coordinate daily workflow between Service Advisors, Warranty, and Parts
  • Ensure proper routing of repair orders (ROs)
  • Confirm pay source on every RO
  • Keep departments informed on delays, parts, and completions
  • Drive Process Improvement
  • Evaluate current processes for efficiency
  • Implement clear, actionable improvements
  • Analyze and reduce come-backs and inefficiencies
  • Ensure RO Accuracy & Quality
  • Review completed ROs for proper documentation (Three C’s)
  • Audit parts usage and missed parts
  • Confirm warranty parts are returned properly
  • Ensure courtesy inspections are completed on customer-pay tickets
  • Manage Production & Scheduling
  • Coordinate Advisor and Production Manager schedules
  • Ensure Saturday coverage
  • Preload work areas daily for technician readiness
  • Partner with Warranty on prior authorizations and estimates
  • Monitor Performance & Metrics
  • Daily RO analysis and technician productivity review
  • Review drop-offs, pick-ups, and potential schedule conflicts
  • Run daily flag reports
  • Track WIP age, 72-hour check-ins, CSI, gross margin, service absorption, and efficiency
  • Lead & Develop the Team
  • Conduct annual reviews and quarterly performance conversations
  • Ensure production managers complete their employee reviews
  • Drive training and certification compliance
  • Train, motivate, and retain top talent
  • Maintain Shop Efficiency & Safety
  • Enforce safety procedures and cleanliness standards
  • Reduce waste in supplies, space, and time
  • Coordinate shop repairs and capital purchases
