About The Position

PPG is looking for an S&T Test Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will work out of our Sylmar, CA office and report to the S&T Research Engineer. Key Responsibilities Support in the qualification and development of product to meet industrial standards, specifications, and other customer requirements. Evaluate new processes and products in conformance with engineering specifications. Address problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, and interpret data to communicate results to internal and external customers. Follows experimental procedures, generates reliable data, and demonstrates the ability to contribute to the design of experiments. Leads independent projects or portions of larger projects. Perform quality control testing in accordance with established company specifications and ASTM procedures and/or other accepted methods when required. Support in updating or developing new specifications/standard operating procedures as needed. Maintain sensitive technical equipment per written standards and procedures with excellent laboratory practices. Ensure documentation and data accuracy; maintain a system of quality documents, and records. Write procedures/reports, input data into computer database, maintain a laboratory notebook, and generate test records. Perform 5S cleaning and housekeeping duties as required. Will be required to perform projects/tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of applicable lab experience/technical field desired.
  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
  • Able to wear required PPE, when applicable.
  • Demonstrate a desire to take on new projects and support where needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies.
