About The Position

COMANCO is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Coordinator to support and enhance our company-wide safety programs. The Safety Coordinator carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Safety Administrative Support and Safety Compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with multiple safety platforms, and able to communicate effectively with employees, management, clients, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's degree is required or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 3 years or more in Administrative Support. Prior Safety experience preferred.
  • Skills: Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred. The ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Proven ability to record transactions and prepare management reports on a computer properly and accurately.
  • Problem Solving: The able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Safety experience preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee safety compliance records within personnel files
  • Create purchase orders and ensure timely invoice processing
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding safety policies, procedures, and programs
  • Track, maintain, and report employee work hours as requested
  • Schedule and coordinate employee drug testing
  • Issue, maintain, and track Mosaic access badges
  • Coordinate and monitor HCSS Safety Observations, ensuring timely responses and corrective actions
  • Monitor vehicle inspections and maintenance schedules
  • Log, track, and report speeding incidents and vehicle violations; maintain Driver Scorecards
  • Perform administrative and reporting tasks within Avetta and ISNET systems
  • Assist with booking hotels, flights, and rental cars as needed
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensure company compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative safety measures
  • Maintain and further develop the HCSS Safety platform
  • Analyze safety metrics to support resource allocation and continuous improvement
  • Monitor KPIs to evaluate safety performance and assist management with corrective action planning
  • Assist Operations with pre-job planning by reviewing job plans and specifications
  • Attend Pre-Job Planning meetings and provide guidance on hazards and controls
  • Develop and maintain Project Safety Plans and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA)
  • Participate in weekly Fleet Safety Meetings
  • Perform routine inspections of Fleet Department operations
  • Prioritize field support while maintaining strong adherence to processes and procedures
  • Communicate professionally with employees, clients, and vendors
  • Accept constructive feedback and actively seek opportunities for improvement
  • Assist HR with safety-related onboarding for new hires
  • Solicit vendor quotes, create purchase orders, and coordinate logistics
  • Support all departments with safety-related needs
  • Maintain and report OSHA and MSHA statistics
  • Manage customer safety requirements through online safety portals
