About The Position

STELLANTIS Vehicle and Propulsion Controls organization is seeking a Safety Diagnosability and On-Board Diagnostics Engineer to develop safety and diagnostic solutions for next generation Powertrain technologies. The SDO (Safety, Diagnosability and OBD) engineer role involves 3 key responsibilities : Development and implementation of diagnostic requirement for Propulsion System components (Engine, Transmission, Electrified and Hybrid Powertrain, etc) and ensure compliance with CARB regulations. Receive high level functional and technical safety requirements from Propulsion System SDO team , develop Functional and Technical Safety concepts and architectures to ensure compliance with ISO26262 and support in implementation of these for each Propulsion System components. Support AfterSales team with inputs for creation/review of the Diagnostic Synthesis Table (DST)/Technical Specification Document(TSD) for MAKE/BUY components. The above activities are required to be performed for all Propulsion System components like ECM, TCM, Hybrid and electrified controllers.  The SDO Engineer reviews the supplier proposed diagnostics for BUY components and ensures adherence to OBD checklist as defined by OBD Applicative team, reviews DTC and MiL proposal and discusses with OBD Applicative team for approval and ensures a compliant diagnostic strategy. The engineer will be responsible for creating Design Change requests for implementing new diagnostic strategies/improvement to existing strategies. The SDO engineer will also support the OBD Applicative team in AECD input reviews for diagnostic compliance and with all the required information for Regulatory board meetings to obtain necessary CARB approvals. The engineer is required to ensure traceability of diagnostics to the source requirements. The SDO engineer also supports in the creation/review of certification documents. The SDO engineer is also responsible for implementation of Functional and Technical safety requirements received from the Powertrain SDO team. The SDO Engineer reviews the component FTA (fault tree analysis), creates/reviews the TSC (Technical Safety Concept) for MAKE/BUY components and supports in the safety assessment at component level. The SDO engineer will support in diagnostic strategy development to meet the required ASIL levels and diagnostic robustness. The SDO engineer will take part in Verification reviews and review the supplier safety concepts and test reports and approve TSRs and safety results.
