About The Position

Skyline Windows is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business. We are best known for designing, manufacturing, and installing custom windows, window wall systems, and terrace doors. All our products are made to order based on our clients’ project specifications. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we do it all! Position Summary: The Safety Director provides enterprise-wide safety leadership across active construction jobsites and shop operations located throughout New York City, as well as Skyline’s manufacturing facility in New Jersey. This role is responsible for embedding safety as a core cultural priority across all operational environments and ensuring full regulatory compliance in both New York City construction settings and New Jersey manufacturing operations. The Safety Director will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, policies, and procedures, while partnering with executive leadership, field teams, and factory personnel to drive a zero-incident culture. This position requires a highly visible leader capable of influencing behavior at all levels of the company and holding teams accountable to the highest safety standards.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing safety across New York City construction jobsites and manufacturing or fabrication environments
  • Proven success embedding safety as a core cultural value across multi-site operations
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 Construction Safety and Health regulations
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910 General Industry standards
  • Strong familiarity with New York City Department of Buildings Construction Safety requirements, including Chapter 33
  • Understanding of manufacturing facility safety requirements and regulations in New Jersey
  • Minimum 2 years of accident investigation, reporting, and documentation experience
  • Experience developing, writing, and implementing safety policies and procedures
  • Experience working within a unionized workforce environment
  • Excellent bilingual English and Spanish communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to create change and have a positive impact at all organizational levels
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agency laws, regulations, and policies
  • Thorough understanding of construction trades and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems
  • Ability to move about active construction sites, including walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders, and navigating uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Must be able to observe work activities in a variety of field environments (indoors, outdoors, at height, and in varying weather conditions).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and fall-protection gear.
  • Ability to travel between project sites and company offices as needed.

  • NYC DOB Site Safety Manager License a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of safety performance across New York City job sites and shop operations
  • Oversee safety programs and compliance at the New Jersey manufacturing facility
  • Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Buildings requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable New Jersey manufacturing safety standards
  • Lead enterprise-wide safety strategy and ensure consistent standards across all operational areas
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across field and manufacturing environments
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive measurable safety performance improvements
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous safety improvement
  • Ensure all required site safety documentation and regulatory filings are maintained and compliant
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) training of employees on fall protection and construction health and safety standards
