Requirements

  • One year continuous work experience (required).
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Must be able to interpret OSHA and other safety regulations and have knowledge of accident prevention techniques.
  • B.S. degree (required)
  • In special circumstances, candidates who have not met the required education, but have substantial manufacturing work experience that is applicable to the job may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 Years experience in a manufacturing environment with related duties (preferred).
  • B.S. degree in Safety, Environmental, or Engineering related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of safety regulations.
  • Provides expertise and guidance on safety and health issues.
  • Ensures all required safety training needs are identified and satisfied.
  • Serves as Nascote's representative for all OSHA and Magna Safety reporting
  • Assists in investigating and monitoring accident reports.
  • Reviews and approves all Safety Change review forms.
  • Performs safety and health audits (ergonomics, conditions, safety equipment).
  • Approves engineering changes that result in changes in processes to ensure proper safety and ergonomics.
  • Facilitates Nascote's safety 8D program.
  • Prepares and maintains safety procedures.
  • Tracks accident data and produces trend charts for management presentation.
  • Coordinates safety incentive program.
  • Attends and reports to the Central Safety Committee.
  • Actively participates on plant emergency response teams.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all employee related matters and information.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record.
  • Purchases or recommends the purchase of safety related equipment or supplies.
  • Acts as contact person with loss prevention representative.
  • Writes articles to promote safety program.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
