About The Position

The Safety Manager will lead and manage company-wide safety programs supporting structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and erection/installation operations. This role includes oversight of safety staff, conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations and job sites.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing safety programs
  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience
  • Experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and erection/installation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to and work on construction sites in varying environmental conditions
  • OSHA construction and steel erection standards
  • Structural steel fabrication and installation hazards
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Safety program development and regulatory compliance
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts at all organizational levels
  • Strong organizational, auditing, and investigative skills

Nice To Haves

  • CSP, GSP, ASP, or CHST certification (preferred) or 4 year safety degree
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies
  • Ensure company operations align with industry safety standards
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, training records, and incident reports
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Stay current on OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other applicable safety standards
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and compliance reviews
  • Design and deliver safety training programs
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and engagement initiatives
  • Provide guidance to employees and leadership on safety procedures and best practices
  • Supervise and mentor Safety Leads and Safety Professionals
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development for safety staff
  • Ensure consistent safety enforcement across multiple projects or facilities
  • Perform routine job site inspections
  • Ensure employees and subcontractors comply with safety requirements
  • Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans
  • Conduct emergency drills and employee training
  • Serve as liaison with emergency response teams during incidents
