About The Position

The Safety Manager will lead and manage company-wide safety programs supporting structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and erection/installation operations. This role includes oversight of safety staff, conducting risk assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations and job sites.

Requirements

5+ years of experience leading and developing safety programs
5+ years of safety leadership experience
Experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and erection/installation
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel to and work on construction sites in varying environmental conditions
OSHA construction and steel erection standards
Structural steel fabrication and installation hazards
Incident investigation and root cause analysis
Safety program development and regulatory compliance
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Excellent communication and training skills
Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts at all organizational levels
Strong organizational, auditing, and investigative skills

Nice To Haves

CSP, GSP, ASP, or CHST certification (preferred) or 4 year safety degree
Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies
Ensure company operations align with industry safety standards
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, training records, and incident reports
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
Stay current on OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other applicable safety standards
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and compliance reviews
Design and deliver safety training programs
Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and engagement initiatives
Provide guidance to employees and leadership on safety procedures and best practices
Supervise and mentor Safety Leads and Safety Professionals
Provide ongoing training and professional development for safety staff
Ensure consistent safety enforcement across multiple projects or facilities
Perform routine job site inspections
Ensure employees and subcontractors comply with safety requirements
Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards
Develop and implement emergency response plans
Conduct emergency drills and employee training
Serve as liaison with emergency response teams during incidents
