We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to join our El Paso, TX team. The Safety Manager will oversee the planning and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT). The Safety Manager is responsible for reinforcing a strong safety culture within the organization and ensuring the safety and health of all employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety management is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 - 3 Years of Safety Experience in the Drilling/Foundation, Substation, and civil construction disciplines.
  • OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 510 certification is preferred).
  • Fluent in English written and verbal communication (bilingual in Spanish preferred).
  • Understanding of Federal and State safety regulations and training requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and experience with web-based tracking software.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Licenses/Certifications: CIH, CSP. CUSP, OSHT, etc.
  • bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and gaps and propose training/education plans to address them.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees.
  • Conduct training sessions, including tailboards and briefings, to ensure safety protocols are understood and followed.
  • Incident Management:
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting and documentation.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure they are completed and effective.
  • Compliance and Inspections:
  • Conduct regular inspections of workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure that all equipment and machinery meet safety requirements.
  • Prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Communication and Relationship Management:
  • Communicate safety policies and procedures to all employees and management.
  • Maintain working relationships with employees, supervisory personnel, state and local officials, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Provide support on sensitive or critical projects and ensure safety standards are maintained.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Analyze and trend safety statistics and metrics to proactively monitor safety performance.
  • Prepare and present safety performance reports to management.
  • Develop and track safety performance indicators and goals.
  • Support and Development of HSE Programs:
  • Support Corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of HSE programs.
  • Provide support in post-incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent future incidents.
  • Regulatory Understanding:
  • Stay updated on OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
