The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services provides services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness, and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all North Carolinians. The primary purpose of this position is to develop, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and monitor a comprehensive safety and health program for all sections within the Standard Division. The Standards Division ensures equity and safety in North Carolina’s marketplaces by testing commercial weighing and measuring devices, inspecting product packaging and retail price scanning systems, evaluating the quality of motor fuels, inspecting LP-Gas and anhydrous ammonia systems, calibrating precision measurement equipment, and testing grain moisture meters used in agriculture. This safety-focused position supports the Standards Division and reports directly to the Agency Safety Director, with additional oversight provided by the Standards Division Director. The position is based at the Agricultural Sciences Center.
