About The Position

Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self-perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. With more than 600 employees, Bird Electric delivers grid solutions and operates in adjacent distributed infrastructure markets including renewables, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and connectivity. Bird Electric expands Black & Veatch’s existing capabilities, staff resources, and equipment to meet critical infrastructure demands for a wider client base.   This position is accountable for implementing and maintaining the company's Safety Procedures. Must have 3–5+ years coordinating or delivering employee training programs and background in construction, electrical, oil & gas, or industrial environments.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years coordinating or delivering employee training programs
  • Background in construction, electrical, oil & gas, or industrial environments
  • Strong scheduling and calendar management
  • Experience developing training materials, presentations, and learning paths
  • Familiar with adult learning principles and workforce engagement strategies
  • Experience conducting classroom, field, and virtual training sessions
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910 / 1926)
  • Familiarity with industry-specific requirements (electrical safety, oil & gas operations, etc.)
  • Experience tracking certifications and regulatory training deadlines
  • Understanding of standards such as: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), including NFPA 70E if electrical work is involved, Department of Labor (DOL) apprenticeship standards (if applicable)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • 4+ years safety training in an electrical construction environment preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and health standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field observations and safety compliance inspections
  • Partner with field operations in the development and implementation of safe work plans
  • Perform detailed incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Develop and manage emergency action plans
  • Lead and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre job briefing
  • Provide expected field training requirements
  • Provide training support to operational management, person-in-charge, and employees
  • Provide required monthly and annual training
  • Maintain accurate training records and other associated documentations and recordings
  • Assist in Audit and Reviews
  • Continually monitor and update training materials for relevancy and accuracy
