About The Position

WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing in the western U.S. and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, competitive pay and benefits. The Sales and Distribution department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF Insurance values to join their team as a Sales and Distribution Trainer. This is a full-time, hybrid, and exempt position based in WCF's Sandy, Utah office. This posting is open to internal and external candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, education, or related field.
  • Ability to support both Sales and Distribution training and Field Underwriting training through the knowledge of underwriting principles and field practices.
  • Proven experience designing curriculum and facilitating training for adult learners.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across departments and teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, have acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU, CIC, insurance certification preferred.
  • Preferred 5 years in the insurance industry with strong knowledge of commercial insurance and worker's compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain comprehensive training programs, including New Producer Training, advanced sales techniques, and underwriting best practices.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, and e-learning modules to support sales and underwriting learning needs.
  • Facilitate and deliver training on product knowledge, sales strategies, compliance requirements, and field underwriting practices.
  • Coach sales representatives on consultative selling, communication, and relationship-building techniques.
  • Train underwriting staff on field underwriting practices, risk assessment, and collaboration with producers and the sales team.
  • Ensure alignment between underwriting guidelines and real‑world application.
  • Plan and present quarterly webinars for agents that qualify for approved training credit.
  • Conduct product training for agents to enhance their ability to sell and service our offerings.
  • Ensure training programs drive consistent, accurate application of underwriting guidelines and sales best practices in the field.
  • Maintain training content that is accurate, current, and aligned with product updates, underwriting standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Improve sales and underwriting performance by delivering effective coaching, facilitation, and support to learners.
  • Meet the dual expectations of the role by successfully supporting both Sales/Distribution training and Field Underwriting development.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Underwriting leadership to identify training needs and support organizational goals.
  • Manage multiple training programs and deliverables with strong organization, timely execution, and reliable follow-through
  • Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate feedback and performance insights to enhance learning outcomes.
