About The Position

The Sales Associate will process all incoming clothing donations, categorize them into types of clothing, season and holidays as well as sort out all other non-clothing donations. In addition to merchandising and sorting, this position will be responsible for operating the cash register, accepting payments and making change. Must have great attitude and excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent
• Minimum one year prior cash register and retail experience.
• Ability to work with the public.
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees.
• Ability to maintain a professional manner at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• This position must be able to lift over 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and handle daily store operations including answering phones and customer questions to maintain excellent customer relations.
• Accurately operate cash register, accepting payment through cash or credit transactions.
• Inform customers about sales, help with merchandise selection.
• Assist customers with product inquiries and price checks.
• Assist with organization and/or cleaning of back room, retail area including shelves, counters and tables with merchandise, bathrooms, outside sidewalks disposal of trash, etc.
• Participate in rotating store inventory.
• Escalate customer issues to Manager when necessary.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
• Will cross train with other Thrift Store departments.
