Objective: Provide exemplary service for customers and their garments, while also demonstrating a high level of respect for fellow employees and the stores in which you work. Essential Functions: Operate SPOT POS (point of sale) System: Enter customer orders, detail clothing and household items, communicate with customers, retrieve customer orders upon pickup, and collect payment from customers. Identify new customers and ensure completion of new customer protocols. Trouble shoot device and software issues. Complete Wash/Dry/Fold Orders: Wash and dry customer items using provided cleaning products and utilities. Fold all laundry according to company specifications and package neatly in company laundry bags. Communicate with Customers: Greet customers as soon as they enter the store and use their name throughout transactions. Answer any questions or concerns they may have. Thank customers for their business on their way out. Promote and Cross-Sell Services: Know what services each customer is currently utilizing and communicate with them and hand out marketing materials to ensure awareness of other services they are not using, including seasonal deals and promotions. Organization: Receive, prepare, and sort customer garments and household items. Conduct cash transactions, ensuring proper change and balancing the cash drawer. Present receipts, coupons, and Customer Claim Checks (Quicks). Keep track of customer requests and complaints - identify solutions quickly and accurately. Attention to Detail: While handling customer items be sure to check and empty all pockets and undo any buttons. Ensure barcodes and piece counts match with our system. Accurately detail items by color, brand, and patterns. Identify any existing damage or stains, and mark with spot tags as necessary. Sort items according to care labels. Storefront: Periodically clean and organize the store, counters, and work areas. Ensure safety by keeping aisles and floors clean, dry, and clear of obstacles. Clean bathrooms, empty trash cans, and sort hangers or other recyclables. Unlock and lock doors at open and close, respectively. Ensure neon signs are functioning and turned-on during business hours. Pick up litter and report any building/grounds maintenance issues to your manager. Check the black envelope, send reports, and otherwise communicate with your Store Manager and other stores as necessary. Industry Knowledge: With time, employees learn the differences among fabrics, what we can and cannot clean or alter, and how to safely remove stains. Industry standard clothing racks throughout most of employee area. Some stores offer drive-thru services, and employees will step outside momentarily to engage with customers. Employees may deal with a variety of weather conditions. Physical Demands: Ability to type, use handheld scanner, and apply heat-seal barcodes. Ability to stand up to 4 hours without a break, as well as bend or squat repeatedly. Ability to lift 35 pounds at a time, multiple times throughout a shift. Ability to accurately identify and sort items by color. Position Status, Expected Hours: Full-Time Status: Average 30-40 hours per week Part-Time Status: Average up to 29 hours per week Availability during the following: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 8pm. Saturday, between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Shifts will vary depending on the Status of the employee, as well as the needs of the store and discretion of the Store Manager. Travel: Employees will have a ‘Home Store,’ but will occasionally be asked to work at our other store locations throughout South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger and Elkhart.
