About The Position

We are looking for a full-time, experienced and self-motivated Sales Forecast Analyst to join our Commercial Finance Team to own sales forecasting accuracy and commercial performance insights for assigned retail accounts with special focus on the assigned account(s). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in and no less than two years of progressive experience directly supporting sales, forecasting, and pricing decisions within a commercial or finance function.
  • Ability to translate data into business recommendations rather than system outputs.
  • Solid business acumen with a masterful understanding of profitability, retail economics, and financial tradeoffs.
  • Solid project management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all internal and external customers. Including translating complicated data into easy-to-understand information and recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience forecasting sales for Home Depot is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Sales and Marketing to determine demand assumptions, promotional planning, and go‑to‑market decisions. Evaluates product activity to report on and provide recommendations on effectiveness, ROI, and incremental volume impact.
  • Ensures forecast accuracy and provides variance explanation. Provides recommendations for process and automation improvements; executes once authorized.
  • Works closely with Sales and Global Supply Team utilizing historical shipments data, customer forecasts, and POS insights to cross functionally manage weekly and monthly sales unit and revenue forecasts, as well as product, pricing and assortment decisions.
  • Support new-item quoting by modeling price, expected volumes, margins, and financial outcomes while considering competitive, market, and economic factors.
  • Owns item-level P&L analysis, including volume, price, cost, and margin drivers, to maximize profitability.
  • Analyzes Point-of-Sale (POS) data to identify sales performance trends by product, customer, channel, and region. Prepares and distributes weekly reports for sales, finance, and operations stakeholders. Provides recommendations based on analyses.
  • Monitors competitive activity, customer behavior, and market trends and translates findings into forecast adjustments. Correlates external trends with internal reports to provide recommendations.
  • Monitors and owns forecast accuracy, investigates variances, explains changes in demand or revenue expectations. Reports results and offers recommendations as needed.
  • Leverages statistical forecasting tools (e.g., Stock IQ) and applies business judgment to adjust forecasts for promotions, rollouts, seasonality, and anomalies.
  • Provides actionable commercial insights that directly influence pricing, merchandising, inventory, and promotional decisions.
  • Contributes to plan-o-gram development and participates in customer meetings.
  • Manages demand forecasts at the item, customer, and category level to support revenue planning and budgeting processes.
  • Identifies key market, category, and customer trends and translates insights into actionable recommendations.
