About The Position

PepsiCo Away From Home (AFH) is a division of PepsiCo that brings the company’s entire portfolio of food and beverage brands to market in out-of-home consumption channels to meet consumer needs at work, at play, and on the go. Rooted in PepsiCo’s “Power of One” principles, PepsiCo Foodservice leverages the scale and breadth of the corporation’s brands to provide a unified voice to its customers and deliver a competitive advantage in the fast-growing foodservice and vending channels. The AFH Area Sales Manager (ASM) plays a critical role as the field sales “general manager” of their market and leads the sales, people, and strategy for their geography. From a sales perspective, the ASM is responsible for delivering plan, sales growth, and specified AOP priorities. From a people perspective, the ASM will lead and develop a field sales team of Market Development Managers (MDMs) and Operator Territory Managers (OTMs). From a strategy perspective, the ASM is responsible for AOP planning as well as on-going analyses of their market trends to identify gaps in plan and execution. This role will cover a multi- state territory and report directly to the South region director. Ideally, the candidates must reside in or near Washington D.C.

  • Solid understanding of financials including P&L impact of sales decisions
  • Must be willing and able to lift 40 lbs. periodically
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% - 60% of the week

Responsibilities

  • Lead a territory of approximately $150MM in revenue across all lines of business
  • Develop field team sales associates across the territory; train MDM and OTMs to successfully manage their respective markets
  • Deliver plan, grow volume, increase sales, and drive key initiatives
  • Grow top foodservice accounts in the territory across all channels
  • Wire with national and regional distributor leadership across opsites in the area to unlock growth and close voids
  • Accelerate AOP Priorities: Frito Lay, Quaker, Workplace, K12
  • Prospect to secure new business to meet region’s new business target
  • Provide field knowledge and competitive information to Region Director and leadership team
  • Coach and develop team on critical selling and leadership capabilities
  • Collaborate with PBNA AFH selling teams to unlock Po1 opportunities
  • Right-size resources within the team to ensure adequate account coverage and service levels
  • Support Region employee engagement and capability strategy to improve satisfaction, retention, labor relations, and diversity
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver Region objectives (HR, Finance, Supply Chain, National Account & Distributor Teams)

  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
