About The Position

General Beverage Sales Co. (GB) is a business-to-business wholesale distributor of wine, distilled spirits, beer, soda, bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages. Established in 1933, GB has been family-owned ever since. We currently operate in all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties as consultants to over 11,000 licensed retail business customers helping them to profitably select, promote, merchandise, and sell consumer products in the beverage category. General Beer Northwest, a leading beer distributor covering 14 counties in Northwest WI, is seeking a professional Sales Relief Consultant within the River Falls, Menomonie, Baldwin, and Spring Valley market area. This position requires supporting the sales team in efforts to increase overall sales and company growth. This is accomplished by stocking shelves, building displays, and rotating products. Sales Relief Consultants are expected to prepare themselves for the role of Sales Consultant by taking advantage of available training opportunities to enhance their abilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of associate degree in related field preferred or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record and working vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. multiple times per day.
  • Candidates need to have a strong work ethic with an ability to accomplish their work accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with sales team and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal while exercising strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Service accounts that are assigned on given week’s schedule.
  • Stock, fill, and merchandise all coolers, shelves, and displays at assigned accounts.
  • Build, merchandise, and sign displays ensuring that point of sale is used in the proper manner.
  • Properly utilize point of sale within accounts ensuring that it is in a highly visible location.
  • Ensure that proper product rotation is in effect in every account that is serviced.
  • Assist with account resets as assigned by the manager.
  • Deliver products upon request of management.
  • Help with open route coverage as needed.
  • Ability to learn, utilize, and maintain General Beer technology and related software.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
